easychipTM is a high-performance time-keeping system that uses disposable chips (RFID UHF tags).
The easychipTM system comprises several components:
- Disposable chips
- Thermal printable pretex bibs
- Antennas for start/intermediate/finish lines
- RFID high sensitivity readers
- Radiofrequency cables
The chips (RFID wing tags) operate at UHF frequency. When used with easychipTM antennas, they are very precise and reliable, achieving read rates near 100%.
The chip has different layers that make it water proof and recyclable. The chip can be supplied attached to the bib, and the runner must only peel off the tag from the bib, pass the shoelaces through the two holes of the tag and tie the shoelaces.
The tag is disposable, which reduces enormously the logistic costs and problems related to selling chips, lending chips, collecting chips after the event, etc.
